A dropdown menu is a text field that allows you to select one of several predefined values from a list. It’s ideal for tracking deal stages, contact statuses, or task priorities (for example, for the “Stage” field, the values could be: “New Lead,” “Interested,” “Successfully Closed,” “Lost”).
Adding multiple presets
To avoid having to create each option manually, you can use the bulk import feature for presets:
You need to do the following:
Define your list of presets
Choose a separator.
Set the conditions for adding or updating presets.
Filtering presets by another field
The ‘Filter presets by another field’ function allows you to limit the list of available options in the drop-down menu depending on what is selected in another (control) field.
For example:
Without a Category selected, the user can choose any type of product from the dropdown:
But when the Category field is set to "Smartphones", only the products from this category will be suggested:
You can chain as many Controlling and Dependent fields as you need to narrow down the selection options for complex preset lists.
How to configure preset filtering by another field:
To limit the presets, go into the settings of the Dependent drop-down field and map its values to the values in the Controlling drop-down or Checkbox field:
Color settings for presets
To make visualisation easier, NetHunt CRM offers flexible colour display options:
Colour inheritance: a dependent field can automatically inherit the colour of the selected value from the controlling field. This helps to clearly illustrate their relationship without the need to manually colour-code large lists.
Disabling colors: If you have a long list of presets and do not need visual colour highlighting, you can disable colours completely for this field.
