In our fast-paced lives, employees often update critical information, causing potential issues. Thankfully, NetHunt offers a simple solution to prevent this - set up Field editing and ensure your data stays safe and secure.
To set it up, go to Settings > Folder and Field Management > choose the Folder > select the field and enable limit Field Editing:
Here, there are two options: make the field
Editable by some users only: select specific role or users that are allowed to edit the field.
Lock for manual updates: all users are not allowed to edit the field, unless through Workflows, API's or other forms of automation.
⚠️ Users will still be able to update data in this field via API, Workflows, and third-party integrations.
The options to merge records in a folder with partially editable fields will be disabled to avoid potential data loss and inconsistency.
These limitations are aimed at improving usability and reducing visual clutter, NOT at fully securing data from specific users.
If you want to fully prevent other users from accessing certain data, please set up their role permissions to restrict access to this folder or allow access only to the assigned records.
