Push-notifications in NetHunt CRM

In this article, we will look at how to manage notifications.

Updated over 5 months ago

What are push notifications and where do you use them?

Push notifications are small pop-up messages that appear in your browser even when NetHunt CRM is not open. They help you stay up to date with important events and never miss a single detail.

Imagine you are working on several tasks at once. When one of your colleagues mentions you in a comment on a record, you don't need to check your email or open the NetHunt tab to find out about it. A notification will appear on your screen and you will instantly see what is happening.

Push notification settings and features in the Nethunt CRM workspace

Push notifications allow you to receive instant notifications about the following events:

  • New mentions of user @ in comments to posts.

  • Change of person responsible for a post.

  • Assignments or changes to existing tasks.

  • Technical issues requiring your attention (e.g., broken connection to the messenger or automation problem).

💡Please note: Notifications are currently not working in the chats section and in Gmail extensions. We have created a strong technical foundation for this feature so that we can add new capabilities more quickly in the future. Therefore, some features are not yet available in this release. But we are continuing to improve this section, and soon this feature will also be available, and notifications will also be available in the mobile app!

You can adjust this by going to Settings -> Notifications:

You will receive notifications and information about them in the upper right corner of your workspace:

In this window, you can go directly to the desired entry. It also has three separate sections:

  • All - all your notifications will be displayed here.

  • Unread - only notifications that have not yet been read.

  • Archive - saves the user's notification history.

You can archive all notifications if necessary.

By clicking on the gear icon, you can go directly to the settings for this section and your notifications:

All notifications remain “Unread” until you respond to them (for example, by tapping on them). This helps you avoid missing anything important and allows you to use the notification center as a mini to-do list, but you can restore it yourself if you haven't completed the task and still need the notification.

It works the other way around as well. If a notification is no longer relevant to you, you can send it to the archive:

💡Please note: Sometimes you may receive browser notifications in Gmail even before the built-in NetHunt notification appears in Gmail. This is normal behavior and not a bug. This only happens in Gmail extensions.

Browser push notification settings and capabilities

Settings in Google Chrome browser

In order to start receiving notifications and pop-ups in your browser, you need to grant these permissions. Click on the settings icon on the left side of the URL bar and grant the necessary permissions:

Setting up notifications in Windows

If notifications are disabled on your PC, they will not work and you will not receive notifications about new tasks or clients in pop-up windows. To configure this, you need to go to your PC settings, select the Systems -> Notifications section.

In the notifications section, you need to check that you can receive notifications from applications and specifically from the Google Chrome browser.

Check that everything is set up correctly here and you will receive notifications from your browser in the form of sounds and pop-up windows.

Setting up notifications in iOS

You need to go to Settings, then select Notifications and show views - Always:

Now you need to switch to the Google Chrome browser:

And enable all notification settings:

Setting up notifications in mobile apps on iOS and Android

You need to update the app to the latest version or higher:

  • on iOS, this is 2.22

  • on Android, this is 2.25.0

After downloading the update or downloading our app for the first time, you will be asked to receive notifications. Please grant permission to receive important information in a timely manner.

💡 You can control and change this in your device settings.

Your opinion is important to us! Please share your experience with notifications and let us know what other events you would like to receive notifications about!
