Updated over 8 months ago

The Wait for Email Interaction helper is a wait step that can react to email opens, link clicks, or email bounces within a Workflow.

This step allows the automation to react to the opening or clicking of any email (or link included) in the whole workflow, or a particular email, as well as to email bounces, for more detailed lead scoring or other scenarios.

Pick which interaction you need to track in the automation – email opened, link clicked, or email bounced:

Pick which email you need to keep track of (or the whole workflow):

On top of it, you can set a minimum number of interactions. For instance, you can set the workflow to react only if an email was opened at least 3 times:

The same logic applies to the Link clicked type of interaction. You can pick in which emails specifically (or the whole workflow) the links should be tracked and the minimum number of the clicks:

⚠️ You can’t specify a click on a particular link (if you have several in the same email).

Wait for Email Bounced allows you to monitor if a specific email or any email within the workflow bounces:

You can configure subsequent steps of the automation to immediately end the workflow, create a task to follow up via another channel, re-verify the email address, or update a specific field in the record to trigger further actions.

⚠️ Please note that the Wait for Email Bounced works as expected as long as the sender's inbox receives bounce report emails.
