NetHunt allows you to pre-set the default date values for any records you create.
It allows you to auto-populate the date field with the certain date you choose in advance.
Why do you need it?
Set Deadlines. Case #1
Say you work with the Support cases folder and each case record you create has a field Close date. Usually, you fill it in manually.
Assume, you have a fixed time frame for the ticket solution and it is 2 days.
When you create a new case, the system will automatically set the deadline for +2 days in the record:
Support cases folder (go to the folder settings > select the deadline (date) field > choose the default value you like):
In a new Case, the Close date is set automatically to +2 days from the creation date:
Set Deadlines. Case #2
Let's also take a look at a sales use-case: you create a deal and it usually takes you 1 week to close it.
So, you create a new deal record and the system will automatically set the deadline for + 1 week in the record:
Deals folder (go to the folder settings > select the deadline (date) field > choose the default value you like):
When you create a new Deal, the Close date is set automatically to +1 week from the creation date:
Create Follow-up Rules
When you create a new deal you can actually make sure you follow your workflow as it is set in your company.
Let us say that it takes you a week to close it.
Your sales representatives need to keep in touch with a customer and send out follow-ups (emails, calls etc).
You can set up a Follow-up group of fields for at least 3 specific dates with interval for the follow-ups to send out.
Create 3 pre-set up date fields and then fix up the views that will always remind you that you need to get in touch with your prospect:
- Create the fields with the default dates (tomorrow, in 3 days and in a week from the Creation date):
2. When creating a Deal, those fields will be automatically filled out:
3. Then create 3 views for the follow ups indicating in your filters the Date field (1st, 2nd and 3rd follow-ups) and set them to Today:
Do so for all three fields and create three separate views and show the record count. Every day you will be notified which (out of three) follow ups is due Today:
