How to stop your workflow: deactivating and completing the already triggered records

There are two ways to disable a workflow: either to stop it completely, or wait for current records to finish your workflow first.

Deactivate and stop

You can use this option when you wish to stop the workflow completely, without the need to wait for records that entered a workflow to finish it. If your workflow is active and no records are in it, this is the only option you will get:

The system will warn you about pending actions if there are records participating in the workflow:

Deactivate and finish up

This one will stop triggering, but will let you finish pending workflow actions:
