How to link your folders to each other

Updated over 3 years ago

What are Related Records in NetHunt CRM?

Related records in NetHunt would be two folders linked to each other. Contacts and Companies would be the best example, where you add a Company to a Contact card,

so then on the Company level, you can see what contacts work for that company:

Also, a good example will be Deals where you add an associated Contact and Company, and all of these will be visible on each level:

Deals -

Companies -

Contacts -

This is how the relation works.

Why linked / related records show up differently?

In NetHunt there is always the "main" record to which another one is getting linked. Therefore, the main record will have the secondary one showing at the top, like here in Contact - Company relation where Contact would be the "main" record:

And vice versa, on the secondary record the main one will be visible at the bottom:

There is not much of a difference between those related records, but a good bonus for "main" records will be that it is possible to view secondary ones in the list view:

How can I establish a link between folders?

Above we reviewed Deal - Contact - Company relationships, but what if you want to establish your own? Certainly, you can do that in NetHunt.

Let's imagine you want to add two folders: Events and Projects and establish a relationship between these two.

All you need to do is access Folder Settings of the folder that will be a "main" one and add "Link to Folder" field:

Once you add and save that one you will be able to link Projects to the events:

Same as before, Projects will be visible on top of the "main" record (Events):

While in the Projects record Events will be visible at the bottom:
