Email Delivery Settings in Workflows

Choosing the option of how your workflow emails will be sent (Gmail/NetHunt SMTP)

Updated over 2 years ago

When creating your Workflows with NetHunt you will surely want to use our "Send an email" action. There are so many great things you can do with it, from notifying your team about a new won Deal to composing a full Drip campaign automation.

Before sending those emails, you can decide where they will be sent from.

✅ NetHunt offers two emailing options for sending your automated emails - Gmail and NetHunt SMTP.

By default, when you create an automation, your emails will be sent according to the basic rules you've previously set up in your Settings:

If you would like to change those for a specific Workflow: click in the top right corner in the Edit mode > choose Workflow settings. This is where you can pick the needed option for sending.

⚠️ It is not possible to change the place to send from after you activate the workflow. Please check these settings before activating your workflow.

Once you decide on the Email delivery method, it's time to configure your email.

✅ NetHunt offers an option to send out emails from yourself, from the Google "send as" option, as well as your teammate's email address.

Those options are displayed directly in the "Send an email" step:

When you choose to send out from your teammate's email address...

...there are certain limitations, pertaining to the method you've selected, that need to be pointed out. Since Google's, recently reinforced, deliverability standards.

When you decide on the Gmail option:

  • User, on whose behalf the emails are sent, must grant the necessary Google account permission: "Manage drafts and send emails."

  • If the permission hasn’t been provided or has been revoked, the message will not be sent.

  • The same requirements apply to the fallback sender.

When using NetHunt SMTP:

  • User, who is the sender of the email, must use an email address with a business domain and configured DKIM/SPF records.

  • NetHunt SMTP cannot be used for sending emails from generic email addresses (e.g., those ending with @gmail.com).

  • The same requirements apply to the fallback sender.
